Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian Stormy Sky And Sea, Belle-Ile, Off Brittany by John Peter Russell was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Sothebys in Sydney in November 2007. The price achieved of AUD 180,000.00 (€ 108,431.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Peter Russell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Boys On The Beach, Belle-Ile in May 2007 with an auction result of AUD 1,800,000.00 (€ 1,106,786.59).
