Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Australian chalk Cliffs At Goulphar Bay by John Peter Russell was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2008. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 35,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 38,400.00 (€ 22,415.92). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Peter Russell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Boys On The Beach, Belle-Ile in May 2007 with an auction result of AUD 1,800,000.00 (€ 1,106,786.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Australian chalk Cliffs At Goulphar Bay von John Peter Russell wurde im August 2008 in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 35.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 38.400,00 (€ 22.415,92) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Peter Russell erzielen.
