Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work On the Beach by John Pawle was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2000, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 460.00 (€ 765.00). Other works by John Pawle have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in March 2000 by the work Rue de la Paix at GBP 920.00 (€ 1,530.00).

Als die Arbeit On the Beach von John Pawle im März 2000 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus.
