A top price for John Byrne - as previously expected
In November 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work Two Children by John Byrne. The price achieved of GBP 18,900.00 (€ 22,190.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Two Children is the most expensive artwork by John Byrne that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im November 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Scottish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two Children von John Byrne zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 18.900,00 (€ 22.190,38) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Two Children das teuerste Kunstwerk von John Byrne, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
