Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by John Byrne achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in September 2020. In the Made in Britain auction, the work Boy With Iris sold for GBP 4,032.00 (€ 4,445.94) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by John Byrne have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Two Children in November 2021 with an auction result of GBP 18,900.00 (€ 22,190.38).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Byrne erzielte im September 2020 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Made in Britain wurde die Arbeit Boy With Iris für GBP 4.032,00 (€ 4.445,94) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Byrne auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Two Children im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.900,00 (€ 22.190,38).
