Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2010 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work The Morning Toilette (illustrated); Study of Judge Cator; and Conversation after supper by John Nixon. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 812.50 (€ 970.94). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Nixon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Musicians practising in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 6,462.50 (€ 10,834.53).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Morning Toilette (illustrated); Study of Judge Cator; and Conversation after supper von John Nixon zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 812,50 (€ 970,94) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Nixon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Musicians practising im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.462,50 (€ 10.834,53).
