Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2010 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Conversation round the punch bowl (illustrated); Figures in a coffee house; and Taking tea by John Nixon. The price achieved of GBP 687.50 (€ 821.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Nixon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Musicians practising in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 6,462.50 (€ 10,834.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Conversation round the punch bowl (illustrated); Figures in a coffee house; and Taking tea von John Nixon zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 687,50 (€ 821,56) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Nixon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Musicians practising im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.462,50 (€ 10.834,53).
