This artwork by John Morris achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September 2000. In the BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PICTURES auction, the work Highland cattle in a mountainous loch landscape sold for GBP 2,232.50 (€ 3,735.65) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Morris - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Waiting for Master, which sold at auction in January 2003 for USD 9,560.00 (€ 8,902.13).
