Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A nook near the Lizard by John Mogford was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,688.75) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Mogford - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cockle gatherers on the Cornish coast, which sold at auction in March 2008 for GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,281.24).
