Auction result well in line with expectations
The work View of Beaumaris from Aber, Wales by John Mogford was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 812.50 (€ 919.34) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by John Mogford have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cockle gatherers on the Cornish coast in March 2008 with an auction result of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,281.24).

Die Arbeit View of Beaumaris from Aber, Wales von John Mogford kam im März 2011 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 812,50 (€ 919,34) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Mogford auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Cockle gatherers on the Cornish coast im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 6.281,24).
