Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2003 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH ART ON PAPER, which included the work A pile of logs by a barn in a clearing by John Middleton. The price achieved of GBP 5,975.00 (€ 8,586.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Middleton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Old Cottage At Tunbridge Wells, Kent, which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 18,000.00 (€ 26,711.09).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.975,00 (€ 8.586,40) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von John Middleton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit An Old Cottage At Tunbridge Wells, Kent beobachtet, die im Juni 2007 für GBP 18.000,00 (€ 26.711,09) versteigert wurde.
