Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and British Drawings Including Property from the Descendants of Walter Brandt, which included the work A Barn At Tunbridge Wells, Kent by John Middleton. The price achieved of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,890.09) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Middleton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Old Cottage At Tunbridge Wells, Kent, which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 18,000.00 (€ 26,711.09).
