Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Michael Rysbrack could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master & Early British Drawings & Watercolours auction, the work A Turk with his horse, forked lightning in the sky changed hands for GBP 562.50 (€ 693.72) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Michael Rysbrack achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bust Of King George Ii (1683-1760) in October 2017 with an auction result of GBP 162,500.00 (€ 185,281.81).
