Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Reclining Figure In Front Of Art Deco Window I; Sketch For Reclining Figure In Front Of Art Deco Window I by John Meredith was sold in the Important Canadian Art auction at Sothebys in Toronto in November 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of CAD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of CAD 20,400.00 (€ 15,788.44) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by John Meredith have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Rio in November 2011 with an auction result of CAD 152,000.00 (€ 110,771.43).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von CAD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von CAD 20.400,00 (€ 15.788,44) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
