Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work Ataturk by John McLean for GBP 480.00 (€ 702.66). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century British Art including The Studio of Humphrey Jennings at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by John McLean have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Coterie in March 2007 with an auction result of GBP 4,320.00 (€ 6,358.55).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2006 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Ataturk von John McLean für GBP 480,00 (€ 702,66) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 20th Century British Art including The Studio of Humphrey Jennings bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John McLean auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Coterie im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.320,00 (€ 6.358,55).
