Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Galaxy by John McCracken for GBP 50,400.00 (€ 59,104.45). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John McCracken achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 965,000.00 (€ 913,652.72).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Galaxy von John McCracken für GBP 50.400,00 (€ 59.104,45) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John McCracken erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 965.000,00 (€ 913.652,72).
