In August 2021 Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Mimih Spirit, c.1995 by John Mawurndjul. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 18,450.00 (€ 15,635.59), 54% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by John Mawurndjul; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Kunmadj (Dillybag), 1996 sold at auction in November 2020 with the realized price of AUD 36,900.00 (€ 30,883.83).

Im August 2021 führte Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mimih Spirit, c.1995 von John Mawurndjul zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 18.450,00 (€ 15.635,59) und damit 54% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von John Mawurndjul; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Kunmadj (Dillybag), 1996 im November 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von AUD 36.900,00 (€ 30.883,83).
