Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Madu could be acquired at Phillips in 17 - in July this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art: Online Auction auction, the work Not This Time, Invader changed hands for USD 3,810.00 (€ 3,457.35) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Madu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Can We Just Chill (After Manet) in June last year with an auction result of HKD 214,200.00 (€ 26,066.56).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Madu konnte im Juli diesen Jahres bei Phillips in 17 - für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art: Online Auction wechselte die Arbeit Not This Time, Invader für USD 3.810,00 (€ 3.457,35) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Madu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Can We Just Chill (After Manet) im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 214.200,00 (€ 26.066,56).
