Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Not This Time Invader VI by John Madu was auctioned at Phillips in London in April last year. The price achieved of GBP 9,450.00 (€ 11,268.79) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Madu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Can We Just Chill (After Manet), which sold at auction in June last year for HKD 214,200.00 (€ 26,066.56).

Die Arbeit Not This Time Invader VI von John Madu kam im April letzten Jahres bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 9.450,00 (€ 11.268,79) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von John Madu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Can We Just Chill (After Manet) beobachtet, die im Juni letzten Jahres für HKD 214.200,00 (€ 26.066,56) versteigert wurde.
