Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by John Linnell achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2017. In the Old Masters auction, the work Saint John The Baptist Preaching In The Wilderness sold for GBP 20,000.00 (€ 22,970.81) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Linnell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Return of Ulysses in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 171,650.00 (€ 250,603.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Linnell erzielte im Mai 2017 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Masters wurde die Arbeit Saint John The Baptist Preaching In The Wilderness für GBP 20.000,00 (€ 22.970,81) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Linnell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Return of Ulysses im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 171.650,00 (€ 250.603,59).
