Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The State Coach; and Study for an autobus coach by John Leigh-Pemberton was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,385.08). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Leigh-Pemberton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Study of a glass coach, which sold at auction in May 2008 for GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,565.19).
