Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Scottish & Sporting Pictures, which included the work The Road Home, Loch Katrine by John Knox. The price achieved of GBP 34,850.00 (€ 43,215.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Knox - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View of Loch Lomond, with Glen Luss, Glen Douglas and the Isle of Arran in the left distance, and Ben Lomond, Loch Goil, Ben Lui and Loch Long in the right distance, which sold at auction in October 2008 for GBP 97,250.00 (€ 123,958.86).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 34.850,00 (€ 43.215,05) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von John Knox mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit View of Loch Lomond, with Glen Luss, Glen Douglas and the Isle of Arran in the left distance, and Ben Lomond, Loch Goil, Ben Lui and Loch Long in the right distance beobachtet, die im Oktober 2008 für GBP 97.250,00 (€ 123.958,86) versteigert wurde.
