Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian The Cricket Match by John Kelly was auctioned at Sothebys in Melbourne in May 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 10,200.00 (€ 5,771.53) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Kelly achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Three Cows in a Pile, 2014 in August last year with an auction result of AUD 141,450.00 (€ 96,492.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Australian The Cricket Match von John Kelly kam im Mai 2009 bei Sothebys in Melbourne zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 10.200,00 (€ 5.771,53) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Kelly erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Three Cows in a Pile, 2014 im August letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 141.450,00 (€ 96.492,37).
