This artwork by John Joseph Enneking achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in February 2002. In the FINE AMERICAN PAINTINGS, DRAWINGS AND SCULPTURE auction, the work Woodland Pool sold for USD 23,500.00 (€ 27,142.53) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Joseph Enneking - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Coaster's Retreat, which sold at auction in November 2000 for USD 76,375.00 (€ 87,847.94).
