Auction result well in line with expectations
The work On The Neponset River by John Joseph Enneking was sold in the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction at Christies in New York in September 2006. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,200.00 (€ 8,039.73) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Joseph Enneking achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Coaster's Retreat in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 76,375.00 (€ 87,847.94).

Die Arbeit On The Neponset River von John Joseph Enneking wurde im September 2006 in der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.200,00 (€ 8.039,73) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Joseph Enneking erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Coaster's Retreat im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 76.375,00 (€ 87.847,94).
