Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Inigo Richards could be acquired at Sothebys in London in December 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection auction, the work The Caernarfonshire coast at Penrhyn changed hands for GBP 252.00 (€ 281.51) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Inigo Richards achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rosamund's Pond, St. James's Park, London, with Westminster Abbey beyond in December 2016 with an auction result of GBP 68,750.00 (€ 80,379.90).
