Sold at the lower estimate price
In November 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Post-War British Art, which included the work Double Side by John Hoskin. The result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,511.88) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Hoskin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in November 2012 for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 11,549.05).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Double Side von John Hoskin zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 4.511,88) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Hoskin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im November 2012 für GBP 9.375,00 (€ 11.549,05) versteigert wurde.
