In January 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work Death'S Arrest by John Henry Amshewitz. The result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 18,029.39) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Other works by John Henry Amshewitz have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2017 the work Death'S Arrest was auctioned for USD 37,500.00 (€ 31,517.90).
