Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2001 a collector was able to acquire the work Centrefold by John Greenwood for GBP 1,762.50 (€ 2,848.46). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art and Photoworks at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Greenwood achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Reverend John Moorhead in January 2002 with an auction result of USD 41,125.00 (€ 47,853.15).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2001 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Centrefold von John Greenwood für GBP 1.762,50 (€ 2.848,46) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art and Photoworks bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Greenwood erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Reverend John Moorhead im Januar 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 41.125,00 (€ 47.853,15).
