Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portrait No. 7 by John Graham Coughtry was sold in the Joseph H. Hirshhorn: Collector for a Nation, Part II auction at Sothebys in New York in April 2021. Here, the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 8,820.00 (€ 7,331.67). Admittedly, works by John Graham Coughtry have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Two Figures Viii in December 2009 with an auction result of CAD 60,000.00 (€ 40,018.14).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait No. 7 von John Graham Coughtry wurde im April 2021 in der Auktion Joseph H. Hirshhorn: Collector for a Nation, Part II bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 8.820,00 (€ 7.331,67) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Graham Coughtry auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Two Figures Viii im Dezember 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CAD 60.000,00 (€ 40.018,14).
