Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Swainson's Toucan; and Lemon-Rumped Toucan by John Gould was auctioned at Christies in London in April 2011. The price achieved of GBP 500.00 (€ 563.09) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Gould achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Birds of Australia, [1840- 1848-1869, 8 volumes including Supplement|AID711784] in May last year with an auction result of GBP 302,400.00 (€ 355,744.81).

Die Arbeit Swainson's Toucan; and Lemon-Rumped Toucan von John Gould kam im April 2011 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 500,00 (€ 563,09) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Gould erzielen.
