Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2006 Christies in London held the auction Exploration and Travel:AsiaIncluding China Trade Paintings, which included the work North East View of The New Bridge Near The Goverment Gardens, Madras by John Gantz. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,200.00 (€ 6,148.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by John Gantz have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in September 2000 the work Arjuna's Penance, Mahabalipuram, near Madras was auctioned for GBP 4,465.00 (€ 7,471.31).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion Exploration and Travel:AsiaIncluding China Trade Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit North East View of The New Bridge Near The Goverment Gardens, Madras von John Gantz zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.200,00 (€ 6.148,31) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von John Gantz konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im September 2000 die Arbeit Arjuna's Penance, Mahabalipuram, near Madras für GBP 4.465,00 (€ 7.471,31) versteigert.
