A top price for John Gantz - as previously expected
In September 2000 Christies in London held the auction Exploration & Travel with Visions of India, which included the work Arjuna's Penance, Mahabalipuram, near Madras by John Gantz. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,465.00 (€ 7,471.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Arjuna's Penance, Mahabalipuram, near Madras is the most expensive artwork by John Gantz that we have observed at auctions so far.
