This artwork by John Fulton Folinsbee achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in June 2001. In the American Paintings and Sculpture auction, the work Bath Waterfront sold for USD 16,450.00 (€ 19,412.32) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Fulton Folinsbee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Trenton Platform, which sold at auction in November 2014 for USD 81,250.00 (€ 65,324.01).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Fulton Folinsbee erzielte im Juni 2001 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Paintings and Sculpture wurde die Arbeit Bath Waterfront für USD 16.450,00 (€ 19.412,32) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Fulton Folinsbee mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Trenton Platform beobachtet, die im November 2014 für USD 81.250,00 (€ 65.324,01) versteigert wurde.
