Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work British the Stable Yard by John Frederick Herring Junior for USD 5,625.00 (€ 4,727.69). This price was achieved in the auction Art Treasures of America: The John F. Eulich Collection at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Frederick Herring Junior achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Steeplechase: The Wall in June 2001 with an auction result of USD 99,500.00 (€ 117,417.98).
