Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2006 Christies in New York held the auction The House Sale, which included the work Late Autumn by John Francis Murphy. The price achieved of USD 3,840.00 (€ 3,163.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Francis Murphy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Autumn Afternoon in June 2000 with an auction result of USD 28,200.00 (€ 29,544.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2006 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The House Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Late Autumn von John Francis Murphy zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.840,00 (€ 3.163,36) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Francis Murphy auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An Autumn Afternoon im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.200,00 (€ 29.544,26).
