Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 158,500.00 (€ 110,253.20) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John F. Francis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life: Yellow Apples And Chestnuts Spilling From A Basket, which sold at auction in December 2008 for USD 374,500.00 (€ 269,056.69).
