Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction 19th Century and British Impressionist Art, which included the work View near Sefton by John Edward Newton. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 17,750.00 (€ 20,851.68), 18% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Edward Newton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rival Performers, which sold at auction in September 2021 for GBP 37,750.00 (€ 43,922.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion 19th Century and British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit View near Sefton von John Edward Newton zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 17.750,00 (€ 20.851,68) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von John Edward Newton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Rival Performers beobachtet, die im September 2021 für GBP 37.750,00 (€ 43.922,65) versteigert wurde.
