Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2003 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper including the Collection and Studio of, which included the work Hare coursing by John Edward Newton. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 528.75 (€ 765.96). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Edward Newton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rival Performers in September 2021 with an auction result of GBP 37,750.00 (€ 43,922.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion British Art on Paper including the Collection and Studio of durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hare coursing von John Edward Newton zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 528,75 (€ 765,96) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Edward Newton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Rival Performers im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 37.750,00 (€ 43.922,65).
