Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work Warehorne from the Marsh by John Doyle for GBP 470.00 (€ 680.85). This price was achieved in the auction British Art on Paper including the Collection and Studio of at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Doyle - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Taking an Airing in Hyde Park, which sold at auction in May 2014 for GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,611.69).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2003 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Warehorne from the Marsh von John Doyle für GBP 470,00 (€ 680,85) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British Art on Paper including the Collection and Studio of bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Doyle mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Taking an Airing in Hyde Park beobachtet, die im Mai 2014 für GBP 2.125,00 (€ 2.611,69) versteigert wurde.
