Auction result well in line with expectations
The work View of Italian Ruins from a Formal Garden by John Doyle was sold in the British Art on Paper including the Collection and Studio of auction at Christies in London in March 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 446.50 (€ 646.81) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by John Doyle have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Taking an Airing in Hyde Park in May 2014 with an auction result of GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,611.69).

Die Arbeit View of Italian Ruins from a Formal Garden von John Doyle wurde im März 2003 in der Auktion British Art on Paper including the Collection and Studio of bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 446,50 (€ 646,81) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Doyle auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Taking an Airing in Hyde Park im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.125,00 (€ 2.611,69).
