This artwork by John Cunningham achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Edinburgh in May last year. In the Scottish Art auction, the work Eygalieres, Provence sold for GBP 2,422.50 (€ 2,849.84) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 900.00. Admittedly, works by John Cunningham have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Table Top in November 2001 with an auction result of GBP 16,450.00 (€ 26,177.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Cunningham erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Edinburgh einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Scottish Art wurde die Arbeit Eygalieres, Provence für GBP 2.422,50 (€ 2.849,84) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 900,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Cunningham auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Table Top im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.450,00 (€ 26.177,13).
