Auction result well in line with expectations
In July last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work No. 6 (Yellow and Coloured Stripes) (unframed) by John Copnall. The price achieved of GBP 1,211.25 (€ 1,446.45) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by John Copnall have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Abstract Forms On White No.1 in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,426.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit No. 6 (Yellow and Coloured Stripes) (unframed) von John Copnall zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.211,25 (€ 1.446,45) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Copnall auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Abstract Forms On White No.1 im Juli 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.426,74).
