Auction result well in line with expectations
In July this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work The Girl with the Golden Arm by John Bratby. The price achieved of GBP 2,304.00 (€ 2,688.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Bratby achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life With Oranges in June 2017 with an auction result of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 39,858.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Girl with the Golden Arm von John Bratby zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.304,00 (€ 2.688,07) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Bratby erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Still Life With Oranges im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 39.858,47).
