A top price for John Bratby - as previously expected
In June 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction London to St. Ives, which included the work Still Life With Oranges by John Bratby. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 39,858.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Still Life With Oranges is the most expensive artwork by John Bratby that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Juni 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion London to St. Ives durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life With Oranges von John Bratby zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 39.858,47) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Still Life With Oranges das teuerste Kunstwerk von John Bratby, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
