Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2003 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Standing Nude with Screen by John Brack. The price achieved of AUD 32,900.00 (€ 18,211.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Brack achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian The Old Time in May 2007 with an auction result of AUD 3,360,000.00 (€ 2,066,001.64).

Im Mai 2003 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Standing Nude with Screen von John Brack zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 32.900,00 (€ 18.211,60) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Brack erzielen.
