In July 2016 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art, which included the work A saddled bay hunter by a stable wall by John Boultbee. The auction ended at the price of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,564.65), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Boultbee have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mambrino, a grey stallion in a wooded landscape in May 2003 with an auction result of GBP 11,950.00 (€ 16,649.36).

Im Juli 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A saddled bay hunter by a stable wall von John Boultbee zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.564,65) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Boultbee auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mambrino, a grey stallion in a wooded landscape im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.950,00 (€ 16.649,36).
