Auction result misses estimated price range
In October last year a collector was able to acquire the work Chernobyl by John Bauer for GBP 756.00 (€ 880.73). This price was achieved in the auction First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Bauer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Troll, stjärnenatt' (Troll, starry night) in December 2021 with an auction result of SEK 1,700,000.00 (€ 165,824.35).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Chernobyl von John Bauer für GBP 756,00 (€ 880,73) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Bauer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Troll, stjärnenatt' (Troll, starry night) im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von SEK 1.700.000,00 (€ 165.824,35).
