Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Exotic Plants by John Barker was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 211.50 (€ 324.66) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Barker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The cattle auction in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 15,275.00 (€ 24,510.74).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 200,00 – 300,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 211,50 (€ 324,66) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
