Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Eveleigh (Forge Valley, Scarboro) by John Atkinson Grimshaw was auctioned at Bonhams in London in September last year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 48,180.00 (€ 54,833.50) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Atkinson Grimshaw achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Liverpool Custom House And Wapping in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 612,800.00 (€ 909,471.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Eveleigh (Forge Valley, Scarboro) von John Atkinson Grimshaw kam im September letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 48.180,00 (€ 54.833,50) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Atkinson Grimshaw erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Liverpool Custom House And Wapping im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 612.800,00 (€ 909.471,91).
